Born 1970 in Mainz/Germany, I am dedicated to photography since the age of fifteen.

Due to my distinctive affinity for innovative technologies I held at that time - first autofocus-systems were introduced onto the market - , that only a japanese AF-system would enable me to start a successfull photographic "career".

But things evolved into something different: My father even thought, his camera equipment were completely sufficient to learn the basics of photography. I thought, in opposition to this: It is extremely spartan, totally archaic, had no TTL-exposure meter, not to mention any automatic function. And there were only focal length from 35 to 90mm. Only unwillingly I accepted this circumstance. I realised it´s hole importance later on.

This equipment made up of a Rangefinder LEICA M2 and three LEICA SUMMICRON-lenses (35mm, 50mm, 90mm). Today I am deeply grateful to my father. So I was forced to deal with all photographic parameters and their coherences basically, because there was no automatic which do this for me. Furthermore it was the cornerstone for the fascinating engagement with "the“ LEICA. The LEICA formed my perception since the early beginning of my photographic work. So to speak the LEICA is "my point of view".
